The Jacksonville Icemen announced the signing of left winger Emerson Clark (5’-10” 180 lbs) on Tuesday. The Whitby, Ontario native has four seasons of ECHL experience and joins Garet Hunt and Mike Ratchuk on the already impressive Icemen roster. Find out more about the team’s newest player below.
Post-Season Experience
In the 2014 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Clark was a reliable player for the Greenville Road Warriors (now Greenville Swamp Rabbits). In 14 games, the Canadian scored twice and collected three assists. With Clark’s impactful play, the seventh-seeded Road Warriors made a remarkable run to the Eastern Conference Finals, just two wins shy of playing for the Kelly Cup.
Moving on Up
In 2015, Clark made his American Hockey League (AHL) debut with the Chicago Wolves. He played a combined 39 games in two years with the team, scoring four times and racking up 11 points. The 24-year-old also had a brief stint with the Utica Comets (AHL) last season before returning to the Tulsa Oilers (ECHL).
Familiar Face
For the second time in three years, Icemen head coach Jason Christie and forward Emerson Clark will be on the same team. Clark spent two seasons with Christie in Tulsa, where he played in 71 games and tallied 53 points. It will be exciting to watch what the duo can bring on the ice for the team this season.
