Icemen End Road Trip in Norfolk

The Jacksonville Icemen (18-28-3-3, 42 pts) are looking to end the road trip the same way they started it, with a win over the Norfolk Admirals (20-26-5-1, 46 pts) this afternoon at 2:00 p.m.

Last Wednesday, these two teams met at the Norfolk Scope for the fifth time in the 2017-18 season, presented by Community First Credit Union. That meeting marked the first time that a game had finished in regulation between the two clubs, as the Icemen cruised to a 5-2 win.

Norfolk has played two games since then, defeating the Greenville Swamp Rabbits twice on back-to-back nights to climb to fifth in the South Division standings. Jamie Murray got the start for both nights, so it will be interesting to see if the Admirals turn to him for the third straight game, or go back to Ty Reichenbach, whose last game was a loss against Jacksonville.

The Icemen really need this game as they look to return to Jacksonville with some momentum. They should feel confident heading into this afternoon's game, as they've played well against the Admirals all season long. Additionally, they have yet to lose at the Norfolk Scope in three previous games. It will be interesting to see if the Icemen can continue to get production throughout the lineup, as five different players scored in Wednesday's dominating win.

Catch today's matinee on ECHL TV as the Icemen take on the Admirals at 2:00 p.m.!
