After 71 games, the Jacksonville Icemen (26-38-4-3, 59 pts) conclude the 2017-18 inaugural season, presented by Community First Credit Union, tonight against the league-leading Florida Everblades (52-13-2-4, 110 pts) at 7:00 p.m. in Estero.
The 'Blades have had the Icemen's number all season long, winning 12 of 13 matchups, with the one loss coming in overtime. This is a very talented Florida team stacked with skill and depth at every position heading into the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Undoubtedly, the 'Blades will look to continue to play their best hockey tonight and finish the regular season with a win.
In the club's first-ever season, the Jacksonville Icemen have a lot to be proud of. With a few weeks left in the season, the team played some of their best hockey and scratched and clawed for a playoff berth. There's a lot to be proud of that can be carried over into next season's campaign. A victory tonight would be a nice way to enter the offseason as the Icemen begin to prepare for another year of hockey.
Tune into ECHL TV tonight at 7:00 p.m. as the Icemen hit the ice for the final time this season against the Everblades from Germain Arena.
