For the final time in the 2017-18 inaugural season, presented by Community First Credit Union, the Jacksonville Icemen (26-37-4-3, 59 pts) hit the ice at Veterans Memorial Arena tonight to take on the Florida Everblades (50-13-2-4, 106 pts) at 7:30 p.m.
While the Icemen won't be skating in the 2018 Kelly Cup Playoffs this spring, they are ready to close out the season on a high note in front of their home fans with their first victory over the 'Blades on home ice tonight. To accomplish the feat, Jacksonville looks to set the tone early tonight and start the game with energy after giving up four goals in the opening frame last night.
The 'Blades have been the hottest team in the ECHL, winning their past eight games to clinch the No. 1 seed in the entire league heading into the postseason. Despite having their playoff position locked up, you can bet that Florida will continue to play hard these final two games to carry momentum from the regular season into the playoffs.
Tonight, the Icemen are thanking their fans for their incredible support throughout the first season in franchise history. It's not too late to get your tickets for the home finale tonight at 7:30 p.m. Click here to secure your seats for Fan Appreciation Night.
