The official countdown is on with the release of the Jacksonville Icemen home schedule for the 2018-2019 season, presented by Community First Credit Union. If you're keeping track, we're 164 days from Opening Night when the Icemen will host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13th.The Icemen will host divisional foe, and 2017-2018 regular season winners, the Florida Everblades, seven times this season. Atlanta will be the next most frequent flyer with six trips to Jacksonville. The Icemen will see home action each of the seven days of the week in 2018-2019. Single game tickets will go on sale in September.
Jacksonville's official NHL and AHL affiliates are both proving to be postseason forces.After splitting games in Nashville to open Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Winnipeg Jets returned home Tuesday night for a wild Game 3 that saw the Jets overcome a 3-goal deficit to eventually win 7-4. The Jets have been stellar at home all season, finishing with the best regular-season home record in the NHL and are undefeated at home in the postseason.Winnipeg leads the best-of-seven series 2-1 and will remain home for Game 4 on Thursday at 9:30 p.m. ET before heading back to Nashville for Game 5. The winner of the series will move on to the Western Conference Finals to face either the San Jose Sharks or the first-year Vegas Golden Knights.In a must-win Game 5, the Manitoba Moose handedly beat defending Calder Cup Champions Grand Rapids 5-1 Monday night to move on to the Central Division Finals against the Rockford IceHogs. The Moose will have home ice advantage for Game 1 and Game 2 of the seven-game series beginning May 4th. The series will return home for Game 6 & Game 7, if necessary.
