JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Jacksonville Icemen, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets and AHL’s Manitoba Moose announced Saturday that goaltender Angus Redmond has been assigned to the team from the San Diego Gulls (AHL) by the Anaheim Ducks (NHL).
Redmond, 23, joins the Icemen from San Diego after posting 2.85 goals-against-average in two appearances. The 6-1, 200-pound netminder has posted a 5-5-3-3 record, with a 3.30 goals-against-average and .902 save percentage in 17 ECHL appearances split between the South Carolina Stingrays and Reading Royals.
The Langley, BC native ranked fourth in NCAA Division I with a1.85 goals-against-average in his freshman season at Michigan Tech (2016-17). Redmond signed a three-year entry level contact with the Anaheim Ducks on April 3, 2017.
The Icemen are back in action tonight (March 22) at Norfolk. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. Fans can now follow the team on the road on the Icemen Broadcast Network for free on Mixlr and on ECHL.TV on a subscription basis.
