JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Jacksonville Icemen, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets and AHL’s Manitoba Moose announced Thursday that the team has acquired forward Matt Pohlkamp from the Reading Royals and forward Jakob Reichert from the Adirondack Thunder. Thursday’s acquisitions complete the terms of future considerations trade deals made with each team earlier in the season when the Icemen sent goaltender Austin Lotz to the Royals and traded forward Dylan Walchuk to the Thunder.
Pohlkamp, 26, joins the Icemen after posting 35 points (21g, 14a) in 65 games played last season split between the South Carolina Stingrays and Reading Royals. The 6-0, 198-pound forward has totaled 82 career points (41g, 41a) in 144 career ECHL games from 2017-2019. The Baxter, Minnesota native recorded 88 points (38g, 50a) in four collegiate seasons at Bowling Green State University from 2013-2017.
Reichert, 25, registered 15 points (5g,10a) in 45 games played during his rookie campaign with Adirondack last season. The 6-5, 215-pound forward logged 11 points during his four seasons at Bowling Green from 2014-2018. Both Recihert and Pohlkamp played three collegiate seasons together at BGSU.
