About Today’s Game: Tonight’s ECHL South Division match-up features the Jacksonville Icemen and the Orlando Solar Bears.  A big two points are on the line tonight as Orlando holds a three-point lead over Jacksonville for fourth place in a very cluttered South Division.  Both teams are coming off road victories last night as Jacksonville edged Atlanta 4-3, while Orlando closed out an impressive 5-1 decision at Greenville.  Four of Orlando’s nine wins this season have come against Jacksonville.

Series History:  Tonight’s game marks the fifth of 11 meetings between the two teams this season.   Orlando leads the season series 4-0-0 while also leading the All-Time series 21-3-1-0. 

About the Icemen:  Chase Lang continues to lead the Icemen in scoring with 17 points following a two-assist performance last night.   Garret Ross scored twice and added an assist in last night’s win over Atlanta and has four points in his last two games….All eight of the Icemen’s wins this season have come in games in which they have scored first….Jacksonville is 5-0-0 when leading after two periods.   

About the Solar Bears:  Defenseman Michael Brodizinski and forward Chris LeBlanc share the team lead in scoring with 12 points…..Alexey Lipanov has scored all four of his goals this season against the Icemen….Orlando received a boost the roster on Thursday when forward Hunter Fejes was returned to the team on loan from Manitoba (AHL)….The Solar Bears boast the league’s top penalty kill unit at 89.3-percent.

Carolina, 7:00 p.m. – Annual Teddy Bear Toss Game & Star Wars Night!  Bring a new or gently used teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game and throw it out onto the ice when the Icemen score their first goal.  The Icemen will distribute the stuffed toys to local children’s charities for the holidays.
