JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Jacksonville Icemen, proud ECHL Affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and the AHL’s Iowa Wild, announced that their new opening night for their 10th Anniversary Season will take place on Friday, October 16. The change is a part of several schedule changes that will affect five Icemen home games.
The new opening night will take place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena on October 16, with a puck drop set for 7:00 pm. The Icemen will now open their season at home against the South Carolina Stingrays. Consequently, Jacksonville will no longer be playing a January 6 home game against the Atlanta Gladiators.
In addition to the new season opener, the following home games have been MOVED:
November 10 vs South Carolina has been moved to Sunday, January 24 (3:00 pm)
January 20 vs Savannah has been moved to Saturday, January 30 (7:00 pm)
February 3 vs Florida has been moved up to Wednesday, December 9 (7:00 pm)
February 26 vs Kansas City has been moved up to Wednesday, February 24 (7:00 pm)
The Icemen have also had five road games affected by the schedule change, with the following contests REMOVED from the schedule:
At Orlando on November 22
At Florida on December 16
At Florida on January 24
At Atlanta on January 30
At Atlanta on January 31
The following road games have been ADDED to the Jacksonville schedule:
At Savanah on December 13 (3:00 pm)
At Savannah on December 27 (3:00 pm)
At South Carolina on April 2 (7:05 pm)
Further additions to the Icemen’s road schedule will be announced at a later date.
