JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Jacksonville Icemen, proud ECHL Affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and the AHL’s Iowa Wild, announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Kyle Bettens for the 2026-27 season.
Bettens, 25, made his professional hockey debut last season with the Indy Fuel, suiting up for two games. This season will be Bettens’ first full year in the ECHL. The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native played four years of NCAA Division I college hockey with the University of Minnesota-Duluth (2022-2025) and Northern Michigan University (2025-2026). He had 43 points (14 goals, 29 assists) in 132 collegiate games.
Before his college career, the 6’3, 216-pound forward played two years of junior hockey in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Omaha Lancers and Youngstown Phantoms from 2020-2-22 and two seasons with the Steinbach Pistons in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) from 2019-2020.
