Recap: Icemen Rout Rays

Jacksonville, FL –  Following a tough loss last night, the Jacksonville Icemen bounced back to rout the South Carolina Stingrays 4-1 in front of 7,800 fans at Veterans Memorial Arena, snapping the Rays' six-game win streak.

Josh Erickson was first on the board for the Icemen on a feed from Everett Clark and Cody Fowlie at 10:00 minutes into the 1st period. At 14:05 in the 2nd period, Matt Ustaski notched an unassisted goal to give the Icemen a 2-0 lead heading into the final frame. Everett Clark added another unassisted goal at 10:00 in the 3rd period for his second point of the night. With 2:00 left to play, Tanner Eberle tallied an unassisted, short-handed goal on the empty net, extending his point streak to seven games.

The Icemen scored in each period of tonight's contest while goalie Austin Lotz was phenomenal stopping 20 shots, keeping the Stingrays scoreless until the final frame when Kelly Zajac recorded the Stingrays' lone goal.

The Icemen conclude their inaugural season next weekend with home games Thursday and Friday against in-state rival the Florida Everblades, before traveling to Estero on Saturday for their final game of the season against the 'Blades. Tickets here.
