Icemen Add Forward Braylon Shmyr

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Jacksonville Icemen, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets and AHL’s Manitoba Moose announced Tuesday that the team has acquired forward Braylon Shymr off waivers from the Norfolk Admirals.   

Shymr, 22, joins the Icemen after logging three assists in 11 games played with the Admirals this season.  The 5-10, 180-pound forward posted 44 points (20g, 24a) in 64 games played last season with the Allen Americans (ECHL).  Shymr (pronounced SH-meer) also made three AHL appearances in stints with the Springfield Thunderbirds and San Antonio Rampage.  The Calgary, AB native totaled 240 points (111g, 129a) in 300 career WHL games played with Brandon Wheat Kings and Saskatoon Blades from 2012-2018.The Icemen are back in action on Wednesday when they play host to the Indy Fuel at Veterans Memorial Arena.  Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. Fans can enjoy $2 select beer & wine for every  Wednesday home game duringFans can catch all game broadcasts at www.mixlr.com/jaxicemen or watch the game online at ECHL.T
