October 2, 2017 - Jacksonville, FL - The Jacksonville Icemen have received three players from the Winnipeg Jets/Manitoba Moose: ECHL All-Star goalie Jamie Phillips, defenseman Chris Dienes and forward Elgin Pearce. Each player will make their Icemen debut during this week’s training camp.
Phillips (6’3”, 175 lbs), played most of last season (his rookie season) with Icemen coach, Jason Christie’s Tulsa Oilers. He had a 19-10-0 record with the Oilers, where he earned a 2.63 goal-against average (GAA), and saved .913 percent of shots. The Ontartio native’s GAA put him in the league’s top ten goalies for the season. During the 2017 All-Star Classic, Phillips gave up only one goal in 25 minutes (2.00 GAA), which lead all goalies. He’s played 11 games with the Moose (AHL) and accumulated a 2-4-1 record (2.97 GAA and .096 save percentage).
Elgin Pierce (6’0”, 175 lbs) is a forward and played in three games with the Moose last season (0-1-1) following a stellar career at University of Calgary (CWUAA).
Dienes (6’3”, 195 lbs) is a big defenseman who starred at Western Michigan University before playing the end of the season with Adirondack (ECHL) for five games (1-1-2).
