The Jacksonville Icemen announced the acquisition of defenseman Steven Delisle in a trade on Thursday with the Norfolk Admirals for future considerations.
Delisle will join the Icemen when they take the ice for their School Day game against the South Carolina Stingrays on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m. Fans can also see Delisle in action on Marvel Super Hero™ Night when the Icemen take on in-state rival Florida Everblades on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Delisle (6'-6", 225 lbs) had appeared in nine games for the Admirals this season. The veteran blueliner brings a wealth of hockey experience to Jacksonville. The 27-year-old played in 178 games and tallied 34 points (6G-28A) in the AHL. Additionally, Delisle has appeared in 121 ECHL games, where he collected 26 points (5G-21A). In 2013, Delisle finished the season a +23 rating with Greenville and made his first-ever ECHL playoff appearance.
Prior to his professional career, Delisle played in the QMJHL for four seasons with the Gatineau Olympiques and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. The Levis, QC native played in 253 games in his junior career, reaching the century mark in points (17G-83A).
