The Jacksonville Icemen have acquired forward Garrett Klotz, the club announced today.
Klotz (6'5", 234 lbs) was selected in the third round by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2007 and brings a wealth of professional experience to the youthful Icemen. The 29-year-old forward played for the Quad City Mallards this season in the ECHL after spending the 2016-17 season overseas with the Coventry Blaze of the EIHL. In his long ECHL career that's included six teams, he's played in 127 games and tallied 18 points (6G, 11A).
After spending three seasons in the WHL with the Red Deer Rebels and the Saskatoon Blades, the Regina, Saskatchewan native joined the American Hockey League. Klotz skated in 157 games in the AHL and collected 11 points (4G, 7A) and 193 penalty minutes.
