About Tonight’s Game: The Icemen and Gladiators meet for the second of three meetings this weekend.  Jacksonville claimed round one last night with a 4-1 victory.  Atlanta was held to just three shots on net in the first period, but pushed back with 29 shots in the final two periods.  Icemen goaltender Francois Brassard stopped 31 of 32 shots on the night to preserve the Jacksonville victory.  With the win, the Icemen gained some ground on the first place Gladiators and now trail Atlanta by four points in the standings.  

Series History:  Atlanta leads the season series 4-2-0-1 and leads the All-Time series against Jacksonville with 19 wins to 17.    

About the Icemen:  Ara Nazarian was credited with the game-winner in last night’s game with his second period goal, while Craig Martin recorded his 19th goal of the season. Nazarian (34 goals) and Martin (33 goals) rank second and third respectively on the Icemen’s All-Time goal scoring list.  Wacey Rabbit ranks first with 44 goals.  Martin has recorded five points and three goals in the last two games….The Icemen rank first on the penalty kill at an impressive 86.0-percent.

About the Gladiators:  Forward Cody Sylvester leads the Gladiators in scoring with 51 points.  Sylvester and leads the Gladiators in scoring against Jacksonville this season with six points (2g, 4a)…..The Icemen power play units will need to be mindful of Atlanta’s threat to score while a man down, as the Gladiators have scored 18 shorthanded goals this season.  Two of those have been scored against Jacksonville, both by Hugo Roy. Roy was stopped by Francois Brassard last night on a shorthanded breakaway in the third period.
