JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Jacksonville Icemen, proud ECHL Affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and the AHL’s Iowa Wild, announced today that the team has placed forward T.J. Friedmann on a Team Suspension status to maintain his ECHL rights. Friedmann announced his retirement last week.
Friedmann, 28, announced his retirement from hockey last week to pursue a financial internship. As a result, the Icemen have placed Friedmann on team suspension to maintain control of his ECHL rights should he decide to play again in the future. Friedmann had 56 points (32 goals, 24 assists) in 152 ECHL games across three seasons.
Friedmann played NCAA Division I college hockey with Quinnipiac University and was a member of the Bobcats’ national championship team in 2023. He garnered 58 points (28 goals, 30 assists) over his four-year collegiate career.
