The Jacksonville Icemen have received forward Tyson Fawcett in a trade with the Fort Wayne Komets for future considerations, the club announced Friday.
Fawcett (5'-7", 165 lbs) appeared in nine games this season for the Komets, racking up five points (4G, 1A) and a +3 rating. The Barrie, Ontario native will be playing for his former coach, Jason Christie, once again after playing in 12 games for the Tulsa Oilers during the 2016-17 campaign. In just four years in the ECHL, Fawcett has played for five clubs, including the former Evansville Icemen. The 24-year-old has boasted 90 points (40G, 50A)Â in 189 ECHL games. Fawcett briefly made his debut in the AHL with the Rochester Americans in 2016 where he skated in two games.
Before his professional career, Fawcett started in the OJHL with the former Orangeville Crushers in 2009. In 120 games in the league, the forward stood out with 46 goals and 59 assists. Fawcett would then join his hometown club, Barrie Colts, of the OHL in 2012. After two seasons with the Colts, Fawcett tallied 75 points (35G, 40A).
The Icemen wrap up their two-game homestand against the division-leading Florida Everblades on Friday, Nov. 17 at Veterans Memorial Arena.
